Max Planck, a theoretical physicist, notorious throughout the scientific world for his quantity “Planck’s constant,” dedicated his life to unraveling the mysteries of energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planck was responsible for creating and developing quantum theory, centered around the idea that energy cannot be released or absorbed in any arbitrary amount; in more technical terms, that it is “quantized.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planck proposed that energy is emitted in packets known as quanta,<\/em> describing his findings with the equation E=hv, where v represents frequency and h stands for Planck’s constant with a value of 6.626 x 10-34<\/sup> J . s. His work inspired Einstein, who theorized that the packets of energy must have particle characteristics, and he called these particles “photons.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Max Planck’s groundbreaking work on the electromagnetic spectrum laid the foundation for future work in this field, including the famous equation which combined E=hv with Einstein’s equation E=mc2<\/sup> to get E=hc\/\u03bb, where lambda represents wavelength. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planck’s work is often described as the foundation of quantum physics and has led to a better understanding of electron configurations and the energies of orbitals as “areas of high probability.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
