Title: 3.2 Properties of Solids Quiz Question
Post by: Siddharth_Pendyala on April 27, 2025, 01:47:37 PM
I was doing my quiz and saw this problem. How can the answer be Platinum (Pt) when it conducts electricity alone? Also, Pt has a melting point at 1768°C, not 801°C, which is the melting point of NaCl - I think the question's correct answer should be NaCl. Am I doing something wrong? I've flagged the question.

Yes it is clearly ionic compound and not metal. We have only one ionic compound so it is NaCl.

That's what I thought too but the answer the question marks as right is Platinum, not NaCl.
