What mass of gold from an aqueous Ag3+ solution can be produced in 2.0 hours with a current of 12 A?

chenbeier

The element Symbol for Gold is Au and not Ag.
Your calculation is wrong.

Faraday law m = M*I*t/(z*F)
m= 196,96 g/mol*12*2*3600/(3*96485 As) = 58,79 g

32.2 gms.
Is that correct
This is wrong.
Current x time (s) ---> Charge ----> moles of electrons ----> moles of Au ----> grams of Au
Answer is 58.76 g

Thanks Uma. That means, the attached here is correct?
