Title: Lewis Dot Structure Question
Post by: ann on October 04, 2022, 04:29:58 PM
I am confused about how to draw the Lewis Dot Structure for C2H2. How would I tell how many bonds there are and why are Carbon's the backbone of the structure?

H2C=CH2, carbon  can have 4 bonds. Each H get 1 bond and 2 bonds between the 2 carbons.

C2H2 are organic molecule made up of carbon and Hydrogen.
Hydrogen are singly bonded so can never be central atom.
However carbon can make 4 bonds so it is the central atom and backbone of structure.
