Hello,

What is the average velocity of a molecule of Nytrogen N2 at 300 K and that of molecule of Hydrogen H2 at the same temperature?

My answer: Average velocity of N2 is 15.061 km/s and for hydrogen H2 it is 99.886 km/s. I used the formula average speed =square root of {8RT/M}, where T= temperature, R=gas constant, M=molar mass of gas.

Are these answers correct?

By the way, how can i use chemical equation package  and latex for math symbols in this forum?

I want to make changes in my both answers:

Average velocity of molecule of Nytrogen N2=476.29 m/s and that of molecule of Hydrogen H2=1782.11 m/s

Now, i have attached. [attachment id=ave speed of N2O2 msg=2651]

Here is the correct formula for the average speed of gas molecule.

How can i edit or delete my post?
