I was confused about how to start this question.

It is almost the same thing we did in class. First, you start by writing the formulas of the reactants.
Potassium Hydroxide is KOH, because we know that hydroxide is OH-, and K has a 1+ charge, so KOH. Then We can find the formula of Nitric Acid using the polyatomic sheet, or you can find it by knowing its anion: NO3-, so add H+, and you get HNO3. So now we know the formulas so
we put that on the left side:

KOH(aq) + HNO3(aq)

Next, we do the double displacement reaction, so we switch the cations, and we get:

KNO3(aq) + H2O(l)

And we know that in an acid-base neutralization, we (mostly) get salt and water, so KNO3 is the salt/answer, because other than H2O (the water), the only thing that can be the salt is KNO3.
