Title: Unit 6 Thermodynamic MCQ question
Post by: Krista on May 04, 2025, 11:57:05 PM
Hi Dr. Uma,

I don't understand question 40. I got the final value of 14.9 or around 15 degrees Celsius, so I would assume that the answer would be c (greater than 14). However, the answer key says that it is B. How come?

There is no need of calculations here.
Water is at 14 degree C and Octane is at 13 degree C and Heat is transferred from water to octane then temperature should be  between 13 and 14.You must have done some sign error in calculation. However no calculations are needed for this question.
