In Prop-2-enal, there is an alpha -H which is bonded to sp2 carbon.
This H is not very acidic due to two reasons
1) H is on sp2 carbon and bond is not very polar.
2) Conjugate base is not resonance stabilized.
Due to above reasons, it is difficult to take out alpha -H with cold dilute alkalis.
