Title: Re: Periodic classification -reason for colour of ions

All other statements can be true except with K+
Colour of the ions is due to  d- d  transition ie when electrons jump from one d orbital to another then energy transition falls in visible range which imparts colour to ion.
In K+  we don't have any d orbitals with any electrons
K+ electronic configuartions is 1s22s22p63s23p6
Hence the probability of d-d transition is zero
So there will be no colour even if its not going to follow Aufbau or Hund's rule
