Ultraviolet rays can cut  Crooke's glass because it has a glass which has cerium oxide.
It has a high absorption of ultraviolet radiation and  used in making lenses of eyeglasses, especially in sunglasses.
Ultraviolet rays are electromagnetic radiation that contains wavelengths from 10 nm to 400nm and have energy higher than visible range.
